New café set to open up at Penticton Airport

Hungry Bear Power Bites Cafe

A new café is set to open up inside Penticton Airport’s terminal, offering meals seven days a week to hungry travellers, staff and the entire surrounding community.

Hungry Bear Power Bites Café is inviting the public to its grand opening on Saturday, April 1, at 11a.m. Drop by to eat cake and for the chance to win prizes and other giveaways.

The new business will serve home-cooked meals and baked goods, with all ingredients sourced or made locally.

“It’s a dream for me,” says owner Christina Teshier. “We’re a family-run business and we’re happy to serve the community. This café isn’t just for travellers and staff; we want to serve the city.”

Hungry Bear Power Bites Café is the first to fill the newly renovated food and beverage concession area within the airport’s main terminal.

Four commercial airline carriers serve YYF, including Air Canada, Pacific Coastal, WestJet and Cascadia Airways. Penticton Airport is owned by Transport Canada and on-site tenants include helicopter companies, a flight school, flying club, car rental company, numerous aviation-related businesses, one fuel distributor and a BC Wildfire Service base.
