Penticton Airport was buzzing with excitement on Sept. 12 as 67 young aviators enjoyed a free flight over the South Okanagan.
Thanks to the generosity of eight volunteer pilots and 18 ground volunteers, local youth were treated to a bird's-eye view of the region and an unforgettable introduction to the world of aviation.
The kids, between the ages of eight and 18, also had the chance to explore aircraft up close, meet local pilots, learn about aviation and experience the excitement of the airport firsthand.
A huge thank you goes out to the Penticton Flying Club / COPA Flight 50, the volunteer pilots who donated their time, aircraft and fuel, and the many volunteers who helped make the event possible. Their support helped create lasting memories and may have even inspired a few future pilots.
