From military helicopters and search-and-rescue aircraft to sleek private jets, a surprising variety of aircraft have been making appearances at Penticton Airport (YYF), giving aviation enthusiasts plenty to watch and photograph. Canadian Military Cyclone Helicopter
The Royal Canadian Air Force's CH-148 Cyclone (pictured above) is one of Canada's most advanced military helicopters. Primarily used for maritime surveillance, anti-submarine warfare, and search-and-rescue support, the Cyclone is equipped with sophisticated radar, sensors and communication systems. Its distinctive profile and military grey paint scheme make it an impressive sight on the tarmac.
Black Hawk Helicopters
Renowned around the world for their versatility and reliability, Black Hawks are used for a wide range of military missions.

Private Challenger Jet
Also spotted at YYF was a sleek Bombardier Challenger business jet. Built in Canada, the Challenger series is popular among corporate operators and private owners for its long-range capabilities, spacious cabin, and ability to access smaller airports while providing a comfortable, efficient travel experience.

Kingfisher Helicopter
The distinctive Kingfisher helicopter is one of Canada's newest search-and-rescue aircraft. Designed to operate in challenging conditions, the Kingfisher features advanced avionics and enhanced mission equipment, allowing crews to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.

Cormorant Search and Rescue Helicopter
This powerful search-and-rescue helicopter is operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force and is recognized for its bright yellow and red livery. It's built to perform in some of Canada's harshest environments.
